Christen delights in unearthing the nuances within people and culture through compelling storytelling. She cherishes being briefly, yet deeply, let into people’s lives, and is honored by the trust given to her to tell their stories with dignity.
Currently the senior lifestyle editor at Cosmopolitan, Christen covers health & wellness, sports, home, food, travel, astrology, and more for the iconic brand. Before joining the magazine, Christen was a features reporter for the Living section at the Chicago Tribune where she specialized in home, style, sex & relationships, health, and parenting content. She’s a true lifestyle and culture generalist, and has written and edited everything from quirky slice of life stories and deeply reported health features, to introspective personal essays, engaging celebrity profiles, and fun, light-hearted e-comm roundups.
A graduate of the Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University, Christen earned her Bachelor’s while competing as a Big Ten student-athlete on the women’s basketball team. When she isn’t digging through antique stores, you’ll likely find Christen comfort watching Brown Sugar or New Girl, reading a romance novel that centers Black love and female friendship, or trying to perfect her homemade buttermilk biscuit recipe.
